Travel Advice
This guide is a general outline of travelling to India, and the necessary points to consider. As well as obtaining your India visa, an important consideration is vaccinations.
Hepatitis A is advised for all travellers to India.
Typhoid is advised for all travellers to India. Polio, a one-time booster is advised for adult travellers who have completed the childhood series but did not have a polio vaccine as an adult.
A Yellow fever vaccination is necessary for all visitors coming from a yellow-fever-infected area in Africa or the Americas. It is not needed otherwise.
Some other vaccinations advised are
Japanese encephalitis, Hepatitis B, Rabies, and Measles for travellers visiting rural areas.
Along with your vaccinations before your travel to India, and having your India visa, you will also need to obtain travel insurance along with hotel bookings. This is advised for first time travellers to India.
Visiting India is fascinating mainly because of its diversity. The India visa that you obtain via VFS India in London, or via rapid visas will allow you to travel to any part of India with the exception of sikkim and the Andoman islands - which require special tourist visa permits.
