India’s Aim to Overcome Poverty

Some people worry about getting and Indian visa. They could travel anywhere around India with a visa. However, not everyone has a chance of simply travelling wherever they want. Despite the fact that India is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, poverty is also predominant there.

It is true that India has a high economic growth, but like every other country, it also suffers from poverty. India suffers from poverty because of the usual problems like a high number of illiterate people, very large families, and rapid population growth. So how what does the government do to combat poverty?

It’s rather good to know many people in India and even outside of India have done things to help combat the poverty in India. There are NGOs in India whose sole purpose is to aid people who are suffering from poverty. Some organizations provide shelter for street children and the children are cared of by charity workers. Some of these charity workers are foreigners who really want to help. It is comforting to know that there are still people who go through the trouble of processing an Indian visa to help the needy in India, since this is not the usual purpose why people apply for an Indian visa.

Some NGOs coordinate with the government to aid the needy, like the time the Mercy Corps coordinated with the Department of Agriculture in 2010. The Mercy Corps provided aid to the potato farmers in Kashmir Valley by introducing to the farmers a new development that would allow them to grow potato seeds faster.

This is the perfect example of poverty in rural India. However, the government has also come up with projects to aid the rural folk of India who are suffering from poverty. Some of these programs are aimed at helping small time farmers, developing areas with drought, and employment programs for the rural folks.

Of course, India is also aided by certain charity organizations inside and outside of India. Once again, here are a group of people who use their Indian visa to help the poverty-stricken communities of India.

There are also activists who do their best to influence government officials to aid in the fight against poverty. These activists make it known to the government that the poor need food, shelter, and other basic need. Aside from this, India’s slowly growing voluntary sector is taking steps to develop a fundraising body in India. This is because of the dependence of the country on charities from international organizations, but there are no fundraising bodies within the country itself.

The people need to know that the best way for one nation to develop is from within. That is why the voluntary sector of India pointed out that they need to be educated on how to create effective fundraising bodies. With this, hopefully other people will follow the example of those who get an Indian visa not simply for the purpose of sightseeing, but to give aid to the needy.
